This page is about the Boxer colors and
markings

Boxers are fawn, brindle, dark brindle (people refer
to this as reverse brindle), White and Check.

FAWN: This color can range from light tan to dark
deep red mahogany (the darker fawn is preferred)

BRINDLE: This color or pattern is a Fawn color
dog with black "stripes" these stripes may be very
few, or very dense. (with the dog appearing to be
black, but with closer examination, you will find the
fawn color.) this dense color is referred to as
"Black" or reverse Brindle. Because the dog
appears to be black with fawn stripes.  THERE IS
NO SUCH THING AS A TRUE BLACK BOXER.
They are not recognized by the AKC, they are
registered as a dark brindle.
It is preferred that the brindle stripes appear
distinctly even all over.

WHITE: This does Not mean albino. A white boxer
is all white or they may have patches of fawn or
brindle on: ears, around eyes, top of head, on the
back or even the base of the tail. But rarely on the
sides of the body and no more than 1/3.  (which is
fairly much) The color is called extreme white
piebald spotting. The White boxer doesn't have the
typical black  mask.  They are recognized by the
AKC and can be registered  but not shown in the
show ring, and it is believed by most breeders that
they be sold with a limited registration and not breed.

~~ MARKINGS~~

PLAIN: This term refers to a fawn or brindle boxer
with little or no white, or maybe just a very small
amount like the tips of the toes or a spot on the chest.

SEMI-FLASHY: This is not a technical term, but
rather a term breeders use to refer to a dog that is
fawn or brindle with more white than a Plain but
not really flashy. May have a small streak of white
on face, or white socks, etc. (to be correct this would
be referred to as a flashy)

Flashy: This term refers to a fawn or brindle boxer
with white markings covering up to 1/3 of the body
ideally, but sometimes alittle more. The white can be
found as one or more of these: white chest, white
collar, white between the eyes and on the nuzzle,
white socks and white tip tail (before docking)

CHECK: This term refers to a brindle or fawn dog
with approximately 50% ( 1/3 - 2/3) white. The
white will be on the same places as the flashy boxer,
but to a greater extent. They may have a "saddle"
pattern on their back with white all around it, or just
a "patch" over one eye or other places with the rest
of the dog white.

~~~
Haws~~~
Haws: this term refers to the third eyelid
pigmentation, some boxers have unpigmented haws
which is pink or flesh colored and give the dog a
"hung over look" some boxers have one dark haw
and one unpigmented haw. Some boxers have
"double dark haws'' this term means both eyes have
the black third eyelids and is the desired trait.
(though a non-pigmentation is not considered a fault
according to the AKC standards)
